Fragments

Life is streaming mundanity, punctuated by moments that jolt our senses. Little islands of significant chaos.

Fragments attempts to explore these pivotal moments and how we experience them through minutiae. My intention is not to simply capture an image of these moments, but to encapsulate all sensory and emotional aspects that are also experienced. The interdisciplinary techniques used within the work intend to reflect the multi-sensory and dimensional aspects of a single moment, along with our distorted recollection of them. The text is not intended to explain, but to describe a thought process that was simultaneously triggered. Challenging the indexical nature of the objects within each work and daring to explore the grey area between art, image recognition, recall and psychology
